Challenge

 

Concrete is the most commonly used construction material in civil engineering. Concrete pouring must be carried out at appropriate temperature to avoid deformation and cracking caused by thermal expansion and contraction. Building a complete concrete cooling system has become a critical issue faced by all construction projects including highway and dam construction, especially the projects in hot and dry climate areas.

 

Solution

 

There are two concrete cooling methods to prevent thermal cracking. One is directly adding flake ice to the concrete mixture during mixing process to lower concrete temperature. Another common method is using ice as part of the mixing water, that is, a mixture of flake ice and water. Icesource offers fully automatic flake ice rake system that can distribute flake ice at the stage required by customer. The produced flake ice features large surface area, fast cooling speed and excellent cooling effect.
