190 Tons Direct Cooling Ice Block Machine Customer Case

Building a benchmark large-scale ice making center in South China to help upgrade the cold chain industry
In Huilai County, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, a modern large-scale cold chain warehousing center is operating efficiently. As an important seafood distribution and cold chain logistics hub in eastern Guangdong, the center has a strong demand for industrial ice, which is not only used for seafood preservation and cold chain transportation cooling, but also serves multiple fields such as surrounding food processing and catering distribution.

Faced with the daily pressure of over 100 tons of ice usage, the customer ultimately chose to deepen cooperation with CBFI and customize the construction of a direct cooling ice block factory with a daily output of 190 tons, comprehensively upgrading its ice making capacity and operational efficiency. The project is equipped with 5 sets of 38 ton/day direct cooling ice block machines, which adopt modular parallel design to form a large-scale production cluster. Since its launch, the entire system has operated stably and has sufficient production capacity. It not only meets the ice demand of customers' own storage cold chain, but also achieves commercial extension of external ice supply, significantly improving the comprehensive economic benefits of the project.

From planning to implementation: one-stop "turnkey" service
Faced with such a large-scale ice making system, customers are most concerned about the feasibility of the overall plan, the controllability of the construction period, and the convenience of later operation and maintenance. CBFI, with over 20 years of industry experience, provides a full process "turnkey" service from site investigation, process layout design, equipment customization and production, special equipment qualification processing, on-site installation and commissioning, to later maintenance and upkeep.

At the beginning of the project, the CBFI technical team went to the site for on-site investigation, fully evaluating key factors such as power load, water supply, drainage system, and factory load-bearing capacity, and tailoring the optimal equipment layout plan.

During the equipment manufacturing phase, all ice machines are produced according to high standard industrial specifications and undergo pre commissioning in advance to ensure efficient and accurate on-site installation, fully demonstrating CBFI's strong project management and execution capabilities.

Efficient and intelligent: one click operation, fully automatic operation
The ice block factory adopts a highly automated control system. The operator only needs to lightly tap the start button on the control cabinet, and the system can automatically complete the entire process of water replenishment, cooling, freezing, hot fluorine de icing, ice tray descent, hydraulic ice pushing, etc., without manual intervention throughout the process.

Each 38 ton ice block machine is equipped with an independent PLC control system that supports remote monitoring and data recording, allowing real-time viewing of operating status, fault alarms, energy consumption data, and other information.
Multiple devices can also achieve group control management, intelligently start and stop according to ice demand, and further optimize energy efficiency.

Excellent Quality: Solid ice Blocks with strong melting resistance
The core requirements of customers for ice quality are "dense freezing, slow melting, and no impurities".
The CBFI direct cooling ice block machine adopts the technical path of refrigerant evaporating directly in the aluminum plate evaporator, with high heat transfer efficiency and uniform and dense freezing of the ice layer.
The ice cubes produced have regular sizes, high transparency, no bubbles or cracks inside, and melt more than 15% slower than ordinary ice blocks at room temperature, which is highly praised by downstream customers.

Spectacular and Smooth: Automated Ice Removal and Conveyor System
The most shocking scene occurred during the ice removal process. Whenever a batch of ice cubes completes de icing, the ice tray automatically descends and the hydraulic ice pushing device smoothly pushes out the entire ice block weighing 50 kilograms. Subsequently, the ice blocks are poured into the high-strength stainless steel conveyor belt below in a nearly "silky" manner through a dedicated ice pouring rack, and continuously transported to the ice storage or loading area.

The entire conveying system is designed reasonably, runs smoothly, and is easy to operate, achieving a seamless transition from "making ice to using ice". Especially during peak ice production periods, multiple devices operate continuously, and ice cubes pour down like waterfalls, creating a spectacular scene that fully demonstrates the efficiency and order of modern industrial ice making.

Energy saving and stable, long-term operation
The direct cooling design eliminates the intermediate heat exchange link of traditional saltwater systems, making the system simpler and reducing energy consumption by about 18%. At the same time, the equipment adopts high-quality aluminum plate evaporator and high-efficiency screw compressor unit to ensure long-term stable operation in Guangdong's high temperature and high humidity environment.
